A senior accountant is an individual who manages the financial and accounting affairs of the organization. He is fully responsible for reviewing, managing and reconciling various accounts. His main duties are to prepare and analyze the accounting books of the organization. The duties may vary from one organization to another but the responsibilities and accountability of the senior account are more or less same.

When applying for vacancies, the senior accountant resume should clearly mention the qualification, experience and skills he possesses and what he can offer to the organization. At the time of senior accountant interview also the management should clearly mention his designation, his area of working and skills required to perform specified tasks. The senior accountant should have sufficient experience in delivering accurate and timely management and financial reports. He should always work as a watch dog and always find ways and means to check the authenticity and accuracy of books of accounts.
